Learn to Play the Piano, at your own Pace

Fred Händl

Would you love to learn to play the piano, or perhaps take it up again after a break? Do you struggle to find much time to practise, and worry that you might lose motivation as a result? My relaxed and enjoyable approach to teaching is designed to keep you motivated and help you stick with your lessons. You can devote as much time to playing as you want and are able to. You set the pace.

Playing the piano — and making music in general — is about emotion, not science. You don’t learn it from a book; you learn by playing. That’s why enjoying what you do is so important. Without that enjoyment, progress is hard to sustain.

I firmly believe that everyone can learn to play the piano, and that everyone can enjoy piano lessons, whatever their level. I’d love to help you discover that for yourself.

I teach students of all ages and abilities, from complete beginners to advanced players. Of course, practice matters, but I believe that enjoyment and enthusiasm should always be at the heart of learning to play the piano.

I’m convinced that anyone can learn to play, each in their own way and to their own potential. Not everyone will become an Oscar Peterson, Bill Evans, Yuri Egorov or Yosuke Yamashita — but everyone can learn a great deal, develop their musical skills and, above all, enjoy playing the piano.

Have you always wanted to play the piano but never quite taken the plunge? Then I’d like to invite you to a trial lesson. There’s no obligation whatsoever, and it’s completely free.

We’ll have plenty of time to talk about my approach to teaching, your wishes and expectations, and any questions you may have.
